TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

Trigger points are specific, hyper-irritable and hypersensitive areas in muscle that suffer from decreased circulation, increased contraction and spasm. Lack of circulation creates a high anomaly of toxins and increased nerve sensitivity that can range from low ache to sharp pain. Now just because the trigger point causes the pain does not mean that the spot is painful itself. When the pain causing spot is painful, it is called a primary trigger point. However, pain can also manifest itself in areas away from the active trigger point - such pain is called referred pain.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

WARNING: This massage is NOT for sissy’s! With my Deep Tissue Massage therapy, Im extremely goal oriented and can't help but make it my priority to release the muscle groups carrying your stress and tension during THAT session, I will assess as I manipulate the muscle on whether we need to add additional therapies to the session ; cupping or trigger point are my go to’s when really trying to work out a knot. My goal is the present moment and not how many treatments you need to see me for in the future, sometimes I can get it done in one hour! I do tailor your session to work on specific areas of tension and pain but also give the full body overall feeling of relaxation. I love showing my patients how just a single treatment can make an enormous difference to their health and am not afraid to tell them what activities they can do in between massage days for their best results. With that said PLEASE! Drink lots of water after a deep tissue massage! A daily recommended amount is half our weight in ounces :)

AUTO- INJURY

Immediately after a car accident, massage therapy can help you recover by helping to restore balance to your autonomic nervous system – i.e., the relaxation benefits of massage can help reverse the effects that the shock and trauma of a car wreck can have on your nervous system. Massage also promotes circulation of both blood and lymph, which can help manage the swelling (edema) that usually comes with auto accident injuries. During the sub-acute stage (a few days to a few weeks, or even longer, after the accident), massage can help maintain and improve range of motion and may help prevent the formation of scar tissue and other myofascial adhesions. Later in your recovery, orthopedic massage can address specific musculoskeletal injuries like whiplash, neck pain, back pain, headaches, shoulder sprains/strains, etc.

This massage is in direct coordination with our chiropractic doctors in the office and their recommended treatments.

CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping has been around for thousands of years in cultures like China, Egypt, Greece, and Iran. And for the most part, it was employed as a tool to help alleviate musculoskeletal conditions. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that cups can facilitate the flow of “QI” in the body or your life force. Cups physically create a vacuum on a person’s skin, or reverse pressure away from the body which pulls up on tight, deep muscle tissue. This process then releases any stagnant blood and lymph to flow freely. Once you increase your body’s circulation this way,  you also help move oxygen and nutrients to all  those tight muscles to feed them and promote healing and detox.
